Decent stats and a huge 16″ move make this pretty attractive for any list needing a little more mobility. They’ve gone from being a nigh-forgotten, unloved and underappreciated range to sporting some of the best-looking miniatures currently on the market. While both of these factions desperately needed reworks to their miniatures line, the Eldar having models dating from the 1990s probably needed them more!

This contains all the datasheets you need to play with your two new forces – as well as dedicated crusade rules to improve your troops as they are blooded in battle. Even in our original post on this box, we pointed out there’s not much here in the way of models when compared to recent releases.You also get a 32-page Eldritch Omens booklet that outlines the narrative of the battle for Daethe in the war-torn Nachmund sector. It’s not like we are just pro-Gw fanboys, go check out the scathing review of Pariah Nexus as an example. Well we’re a little biased here as I’m a massive Chaos fan and fellow Spruer Jay is counting down the days till the New Aeldari Codex – so this box had our names all over it!

Points-wise, the Chaos Space Marines are valued at 17 points total, while the Aeldari are only valued at 12 points total. New and existing players will find plenty of fresh gaming options, making this an ideal choice for all collectors.As for the model, it is absolutely gorgeous and when combined with the current winged Autarch kit contains every weapon option available for the unit. The foul winds of the planet Daethe whipped the Aeldari Autarch's cloak as she made her desperate sprint from the clutches of the diabolical Chaos Marines. We strongly suspect that’ll change in the Codex, mostly because right there on the front cover is an Autarch with wings, Reaper Launcher and Glaive, and GW don’t generally put stuff in art that the book doesn’t support. However, once it’s together, it’s another spectacular thing, a looming behemoth towering over the rest of the Chaos figures in the box.

The Farseers gifted her a special Wraithbone piece of jewellry and sent her on her way with cryptic warnings. Banshee blades are power swords at AP-4, definitely fine (especially with the Banshee Mask to consider) while Scorpion Chainswords rip (and tear), hitting at S5 AP-1 while still giving you an extra attack. Warhammer Community showed off Battle Focus earlier in the week, providing units the flexible option to either shoot their Assault and Pistol weaponry after Advancing, or make a Normal Move of d6″ after shooting if they didn’t Advance. His pose is clearly designed to draw parallels with a Space Marine Techmarine – he’s a grim copy, a hellish replication, the doom that awaits the Imperium’s finest within the fell winds of the warp. Then the ability to actually do mortals on 6’s will help out and if you get lucky, you’ll grab a few.What do you think about the new miniatures pricing and value coming for Eldar and Chaos Space Marines in the Eldritch Omens Box? This is a shame, as I imagine all of these will be changing in the new Chaos Space Marines Codex – but this is perhaps a sign that the Codex is a little further away, towards the summer perhaps! This has caused confusion among veteran and new players alike, and I’m going to give my 2-cents about this all.
