In 2015 the Spirit of Rose was eventually rediscovered by dedicated artisans and rebord and distilled in the UK using the original recipe. It’s ingredients were sourced from exotic locations and included the coveted Attar of Rose from the East that gave it its unique nose and taste. Spirit of Rose by Lanique is a perfect pink gin liquor with Floral and Sweet tones, Rose flavoured with added fruits and a hint of Turkish Delight for the taste.The drink remained a firm favourite all the way through to the roaring 1920s, but disappeared with the Second World War and the rise of Communism. The initial warmth and sweetness spreads over the palate with an undertone of peppery spirit, soon to be contrasted with a subtle rind of lime, providing a fresh citrus hit. Lanique is the brand name under which Lancut (pronounced 'Wan-tsut') Distillery in southeast Poland exports to the UK.

The web site suggested 2/3 Lanique to 1/3 Gin, but I reversed that ratio thinking that it would be a little too much of the rose flavour that way around.
