I'd figure you'd have to get an emulator to have it work on games that DON'T support PS4 Controllers.

Only downside to using it over the cable is now I have to make sure I charge my controller over night, to which a charger stand comes in handy. While there’s no date set for when we can expect to see this implemented, at the very least we know that it is coming. I am pleased to say that this dongle has entirely eliminated the latency issues I was experiencing via Bluetooth and seems to be just as responsive as the USB connection. Valve has said they are going to add support for the DS4 controller into Steam, just like with the Steam controller.
Meaning that the adapter does work in just about everything now, as long as you have DS4Windows that is. Short of that, I can’t recommend anyone picking up this, especially if they were looking forward to using this over DS4Window or Joy2Key. I hope that this is something that changes with time, but currently, software that fools the computer into thinking the DS4 is a XBox 360 controller is still required for very many games, meaning the advantage the adapter offers over a standard bluetooth connection is worth less than the USB port it takes up. The DUALSHOCK 4 USB Wireless Adaptor cannot be used to connect a DUALSHOCK 4 wireless controller to a PlayStation 4 system, PlayStation Vita system or PlayStation TV system. I just disabled these playback and recording devices in windows (as I didn't want to use the controller jack) and that was that.
