About this deal

Up until that moment I'd had the same luxury cleansing balms sat sink-side for years—I had my favourites firmly cemented. Ethylhexyl Palmitate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Synthetic Wax (Binder/Emollient), PEG-20 Glyceryl Triisostearate (Skin Conditioning Agent), Olea Europaea Fruit Oil/Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil (Emollient), Butyrospermum Parkii Butter/Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter (Skin Conditioning Agent - Emollient), Caprylyl Glycol (Skin Conditioning Agent), Tocopherol (Antioxidant), Parfum/Fragrance (Fragrance Ingredient), Aqua/Water (Solvent), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Helianthus Annuus Seed Oil/Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil (Emollient), Anthemis Nobilis Flower Extract (Skin Conditioning Agent), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster).

Limonene's nr1 function is definitely being a fragrance component, but there are several studies showing that it's also a penetration enhancer, mainly for oil-loving components. If your skin isn’t bugged by olive oil then ignore this bit of rambling 🙂 Have you already tried this cleansing butter? As a self-confessed lazy girl, Shannon has an affinity for hard-working perfumes, fool-proof make-up products and does-it-all skincare. If you didn’t already realise, I no longer use cleansing oils to remove makeup and as my first step of cleansing so despite being a huge fan of them before, you won’t see anymore going forth. It gently and efficiently melts away make-up and impurities, leaving skin feeling clean, refreshed and pampered. Well, while I don’t agree with her on a lot of things — sheet masks, essences, her neglecting the importance of pH in skincare, daily use of sunscreen, etc.

There's no outlandish claims, no false promises and no confusing skincare ingredients to get your head around. I used the camomile cleansing butter in the same way as I use all my cleansers, I applied it all over my face, then removed using a flannel (face cloth) that I had run under hand hot water and wrung out. If you were to look at my skincare shelves, you could expect to see an array of high-end, luxury products.

I do try to keep negative reviews to a minimum, there are lots of things I've tried out and not featured here, what doesn't work on me may be great on someone else so I'd rather just not include it on the blog. They also mention that it works great on sensitive skin and removes all make up, including waterproof mascara, with little rubbing.

In fact, I pretty much assumed the delicate (but punchier) scent of camellia flowers was going to make it a pain to use for make-up removal, but I was so wrong. If I had a pound for every time I was asked what my desert-island beauty product is, I'd be a rich woman.

But over the years, after trying their body butter and body scrub that more often than not, leave me feeling like Orang Minyak…they just no longer pique my interest anymore. It isn’t as bad as some of the other breakouts I’ve suffered thanks to olive oil and its derivatives, but I’m cutting back on using this one for now.
