About this deal

I hope your family loves this recipe as much as mine does, I’m sure it will be made over and over again in our house.

With audiobooks available on CarPlay, Apple Watch and more, it’s easy to transport yourself to another world during your commute or learn something new on a run.I have made this with 2 fresh apples as well, and also doubted the consistency but stuck with it - it is a rather doughy mixture before you bake it but just press it into the tray, it comes out lovely and moist. This is a great experiment to guide your kid through the scientific method of making an observation, asking a question, forming a hypothesis, designing an experiment, analyzing the data, and forming a conclusion. You need to par-cook fresh apples to get the same result and it’s just too much fuss when canned apples work perfectly, every time. You can enjoy it warm straight from the oven as the perfect cosy dessert, or let it chill and slice it into bite-sized pieces for morning or afternoon tea. Setting a Reading Goal helps make reading a priority by tracking the amount of time you’re reading or listening to an audiobook.

It has a soft lemon apple filling and a crunchy topping made from grating frozen dough on top of the filling. In a separate bowl or stand mixer cream the room-temperature butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Our spiced toffee apple cake uses dates for sweetness and squidgy texture plus a toffee drizzle over pretty slices of red apple. The miniature toffee apples are a fleeting but gorgeous decoration which mirrors the flavours of the bake. I also added a couple of optional extra ingredients, cinnamon and all spice if you like a spiced flavour.Directions for how to access the free printable PDF diagrams can be found at the bottom of this post. Add the melted butter and mix and then press into the prepared tin and bake for 20 minutes or until set. You can even pick your apples from an apple tree which is a great way for kids to see how the fruit is attached to the tree.

Plus, it even lends itself to extra additions like raspberries or plums, a good dollop of ice cream or whipped cream – even some ground ginger for a bit of zing with your afternoon cuppa.Grease and line an 8-inch square pan with baking or parchment paper, ensuring two sides overhang (this will make it easier to remove the slice later). If you prefer, you could do this part in a food processor, then transfer everything into the bowl to move on to the next step.
