Traditional against modern. Nationalist against globalist. Our increasing tendency to identify with an in-group based on shared opinions, values and world-views comes with a critical corollary, a spiralling dislike for an out-group. Play our game to see how well you can predict someone's vote from just a few pieces of information.Above all, they show what practical and effective steps we can all take to narrow divisions, build respect for others, and create a greater degree of common understanding. A lovely "road trip" style book about friendship and travel and penguins who head north after getting lost on the way to a picnic. There they meet a polar bear, Mr. White, who leads them on a merry dance southwards again (with a few detours/stops on the way to interest those budding world travellers out there). Read the rest for yourself - it's a fun story, with great illustrations - I don't want to spoil it for you. I'm a huge fan of Fallis' earlier writing, especially "Best Laid Plans." But, this book was pretty bad both in concept and in writing. These will be done under the guidance/correction and motivation from a qualified Nordic Walking and First Aid Trained Instructor.
