About this deal

Poignant . . . So engrossing that once you start it, you won’t be able to put it down. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.”

Did you know you can flag iffy content? Adjust limits for Sex, Romance & Nudity in your kid's entertainment guide. Get started Close Starred Review. Vividly written and intricately plotted: a well-executed twist will cause readers to reassess what they thought knew about Aaron's life... beyond gritty... Silvera pulls no punches. Adam Silvera is a voice missing in YA fiction. The honesty of his words and his ability to tell a story make you realize that we’ve been waiting for him. I’m blown away.” one of the benefits of letting a book ripen on your NOOK for years and years and years is that you forget what the book is about and why you wanted to read it in the first place. you just know that february is a short month and you’ve set this NOOK-goal for yourself and as you find yourself getting closer to the end of the month, you panic and decide to read the first YA book you see because at least you know it will be fast. A dark and deeply affecting book, More Happy than Not asks young readers to reflect courageously on the value of memory and self."Cremonini, Alise (January 2017). "More Happy Than Not". English Journal. 106 (3): 97–99 – via ProQuest. From the shapes cast by the green paper lantern, you would never know that there were two boys sitting closely to one another trying to find themselves. You would only see shadows hugging, indiscriminate." The only thing that bugged me, is that I could not get lost in it. While I felt for Aaron, I did not feel with Aaron. That would have made it a 5-star rating. His next book The First to Die at the End releases October 4th, 2022, with the final Infinity Cycle book to follow soon after.

First was They Both Die at the End(we ALL knew how that would go down) but with the title of this one, I hoped for slightly less heartbreak and soul crushing. BUT I was wrong. So wrong. Verbs are action words, like “run,”“swim,” and “dance.” Therefore, adding an adverb like “happily” before a verb often shows that someone is acting cheerfully. Without giving anything away, later in the book Aaron decides he wants a Leteo procedure, and is determined to get one, whatever it takes. The twist provided in the book I thought was very good, Aaron is beaten up after being seen hugging Thomas. His ‘friends’ are massive homophobes and they nearly kill him. This act of violence causes Thomas’ memories to unwind – meaning he has actually had the Leteo procedure in the past, but can’t remember it (obviously). He unwinds to memories of another relationship – with a boy called Collin; of being punched the shit out of by his dad when he comes out to him; of Collin breaking things off with him, and finally with Aaron’s dad committing suicide, for which Aaron blames himself. The Leteo Institute offers a groundbreaking service where they can alter memories for those suffering psychologically and emotionally. There is controversy within the book surrounding the ethics of this procedure. I've waited so so long (well, since this was released I guess) to read this. This was one of my most anticipated books of 2015 and it did not let me down.Families can talk about the way memories, remembrance, and identity are important aspects of More Happy Than Not. What is the story's message about the impact that memories, no matter how painful, have on you as a person?
