Although Cole has never been one to provoke thought, or make my mind surpass its small limits, sometimes a crime novel is something I savour for its simplicity. It’s unflinching in its portrayal of the characters we meet, and we meet some disgusting, evil, perverted ones who literally have below zero morals and then some I really can't think why anyone would want to read this, unless it's for the vicarious thrill of observing violent and unpleasant people.the over all plot is a little dramatic but the bottom line is what made me love the book, sometimes those whom we love the most are the ones who destroy us the most..

And yet as the author is so so good at doing it shows friendship and how it can get people through any situation and it shows sacrifice and love If you like Martina Cole and have been waiting for this book you will love it but take a breath every once in a while as it is hard going in places with the realism The greatest sin this book commits is treating sexual activity between a minor and a 30-something adult as sexy. i was reading smut that should put me on a watch list and felt dirty as hell. Short, snappy chapters keep the pace of the story moving so not to get bored. This wasn’t an issue for me - I prefer shorter chapters. I find that I retain more of the story that way and don’t get bogged down with unnecessary content. Michael rises to heights beyond anything the criminal underworld has seen. He owns everyone and he rules his empire with an even but fierce hand. No one would dare challenge him.

I loved this book!! After her last few novels I was reluctant to buy this one, but I’m pleased to say she’s bang on form with this rollercoaster of a story!! Another great read. After the initial first few chapters, every thing falls into place and you can't put it down.

There are trigger points that deal with chid abuse, sexual and physical, rape, violence towards women, drug taking and if you flinch at the C word be prepared to flinch a lotLoyalty is everything and even more so when it's family, anything else will be the ultimate betrayal I went off reading MC, But again found myself buying it after telling myself for the first few weeks I wasn't going to bother.
