They are around 2x the price of yours, so one would hope they are better quality, but build quality may not translate into significantly better views. Also, they may not be as bright as yours anyway due to transmission losses, which can be higher in roof prisms binos compared to porros at a similar cost point. Offering a generous magnification and objective lens size for a reasonable price, the Vortex 10x50 Crossfire HD Binoculars are a great option. It has a non-slip grip with a rubber casing and O-ring seals to prevent water and fog in the optics. The twist-up eyecups offer 17mm of eye relief which is perfect for eyeglasses wearers. The center focus was extremely easy to move. I can see that being a good thing for birding/hunting, but it was horrible for me because I’d work hard to get it set and then it would move if I set them down. I’ve never seen chromatic aberration before, so it was interesting to see such a vivid blue/violet show up on one side of Jupiter and the Moon and a yellow/orange on the other. It was distracting though. They list the IDP minimum as 60mm, but because they have a strap on each aperture to hold the lens caps on, they don’t quite close down to that, and I found that to be just a millimeter or two wider than would be perfect for my eyes. Because of their compactness, I found they are less comfortable to hold then all my Porro prism binoculars when laying on my chaise lounge chair due to two reasons (first because their weight is not as spread out and second because they make resting my elbows on the armrests more uncomfortable).

Thank you guys for your thoughts. Right now, I'm strongly looking at the Nikon Action Extreme 12x50s since they have everything I was looking for in an upgrade over my Oberwerk 12x60 LW. Just have to decided if there are any issues I need to consider with its healthy 5.5 degree field of view - like vignetting? Celestron has been a revered manufacturer and competitor in the astronomy market since 1960. They produce telescopes, microscopes, and, most importantly, binoculars. An objective lens diameter of 60mm means that it has an exit pupil size of 5mm. The exit pupil size determines the amount of light available to your eye. A 5mm exit pupil is sufficient for daytime and twilight use. Eyeglass Friendly Design If preferred, you can buy a tripod for more comfortable viewing or a smartphone adapter to permanently capture amazing sights. By default, the SkyMaster 12×60 Binoculars come with a carrying case, strap, microfiber cleaning cloth, and covers for the eyepiece and lenses. Bright Images in Dim Conditions They are definitely easier to handhold standing up then my Oberwerk 12x54 binoculars and they have a wider true FOV then them (5.2° vs 4.9°). They have a pretty sharp edge with virtually no vignetting. Stars are sharp in the central 65-70% of the field, thus yielding about 3.5° of flat field on center. Eye-relief was fine. I looked the way the aperture covers could still be attached to the binoculars and just popped down.

If you want extra aperture, why not keep the ones you are happy with and look for a nice 70 or 80mm bino?

Stargazing binoculars don't come much more perfect than these. The Celestron SkyMaster Pro 20x80 binoculars have huge magnification and massive objective lenses to get you closer to dimmer objects than almost any other binocular in our guide. Instead of a diopter adjustment wheel on each eyepiece, there is only one on the right eye. After adjusting the diopter to the preferred strength, all you have to do is adjust the central focus wheel as you move from object to object. If oberwerk chart informs that is 90% of objective area, the count should be square root of (60 * 60 * 0,,9) = 56,9, but if them say is 90% of their objective size, the count should be 60 * 0,9 = 54.
