About this deal

Anvil pruners have a grooved stationary blade and a sharp cutting blade that comes straight down into the groove, creating a clean, crushing cut that is especially good when you are pruning dead twigs or small branches, but can also be used to prune living, woody stems. Anvil pruners are not the best choice, however, for slicing through soft, green stems; you want your bypass pruners for that job. We especially like this 8-inch anvil pruner from Gonicc, which has carbon-steel, chromium-plated blades that stay sharp. The handles are aluminum with a soft, rubbery grip for comfort. There is a good reason the handles are different colours. So they are easy to spot in low light & sunny conditions. Very clever! Comfortable light sturdy handles made of forged aluminium with a lifetime guarantee, cutting blade and riveted anvil blade made of high quality hardened steel, clean precise cut, all parts can be replaced. What will strike you with these secateurs is the quality of the blade. Made from the same steel used for Samurai swords the 103 effortlessly cuts through anything up to 25mm in diameter in its stride.

The wire cutting notch in the blade provides for every eventuality and avoids the temptation to risk blunting your blade We love the classic red handles, synonymous with Swiss design; the red colour makes them easy to spot should you happen to drop them in the undergrowth. The F2 measures 8.5 inches in length, making it ideal for gardeners with medium to large hands. (If your hands are small, then the Felco F6 is your best option.) Every part of this Swiss-made tool can be replaced, so if you care for your pruners properly, they will last you for decades. This is a bypass pruner, meaning that the blades "scissor" past each other, rather than meeting directly together when clamped closed. That makes this a great tool for pruning through green stems, vines, and branches, as well as woodier branches up to 1 inch in diameter. The F2 has a steel blade for durability and aluminum handles for lightness of weight. We loved the ergonomic design, as well as the red, rubbery covers that provide a secure grip while adding a cushioning feel—no hand pain here even after a lengthy session in the garden. The pruners have a steel nut and bolt that allow for tiny adjustments of the blades to secure the exact angle that works best for you. There's even a small groove on the edge of the pruners for snipping landscaping wire or similar materials so you don't damage the blade with such activities. A few pruners, including the Fiskars PowerGear 2 Pruner, have rotating or rolling handles, which means that the pruner is ergonomically designed to move with your fingers’ natural motions as you work. This makes the pruners easier to use for those with arthritis or hand weakness. However, some gardeners find the rolling motion to be awkward or take awhile to get used to the feeling of the tool slightly rotating within their grasp as they open and close their fingers. Røde håndtag understreger vores schweiziske arv, mens de fungerer som et pejlemærke, så du altid kan finde dit FELCO-værktøj i alle omgivelser While this is undeniably an investment, the years of excellent performance in your garden, as well as comfort in your hand, will make the F2 one of your favorite gardening tools.

A few plants, including cotoneaster, weigela, and Oregon grape, can be pruned any time. And broadleaf and narrowleaf evergreens can be pruned anytime the wood is not frozen." Take proper care of your pruners, which means cleaning them after use, sharpening them as needed, only cutting greenery that’s within the tool’s capacity, and storing them away from excessive moisture and heat, and a good pair of pruners can last for decades. Red handles underline our Swiss heritage while acting as a convenient beacon, so you can always find your FELCO tool in any environmentIf you value sustainability as much as we do, you’ll want to keep your FELCO tool in premium condition and minimise waste by using a tool where all parts - from the blade and spring to the smallest screw, all are replaceable Every model of Felco Secateurs (besides the F31 Anvil model) features two blades for bypass style cutting. One of the blades is razor sharp and this is called the cutting blade; this blade bypasses the second blade (which is called the anvil blade) to make the cut in the same way a pair of scissors would. This has been proven to be the very best of way of producing a clean cut. He adds, “A good pruner’s blades should be sharp and made of quality steel, and the pruners should be easy to use without creating excessive hand or arm fatigue. Also, after significant use, pruning blades become dull. The better-quality pruners let you replace the blades and springs.”

The iconic, award winning, red-handled pruning shears/secateurs made in Switzerland… the FELCO 2 is the standard-bearer of our brand’s core values of quality, reliability and durability worldwide since 1948. Exemplary design makes them flexible for all types of pruning by professional and amateur users alike. While quality materials and precision manufacturing provide unparalleled strength and comfort that creates an appreciation that lasts a lifetime.

Whether it's a pothos, ficus, or dracaena, most leafy houseplants require an occasional trim to keep them well-shaped and looking their best. Because most common houseplants—we are not including succulents or cacti in this category—have fairly thin and soft stems and branches, they are best pruned with a garden snip like this one from Fiskars. Basically a very sharp scissor, these snips have stainless steel blades that create very clean cuts so your plants won't have ragged edges that can bring on disease or look unsightly. The plastic handles have soft, rubbery material at the pressure points, so they are very easy on your hands and comfortable to hold. The Model 2 secateurs are solid pruning shears. The razor sharp, strengthened carbon steel blades give a crisp, effortless, clean cut through stems, roses, shrubbery and light branches. The difference being on bypass secateurs is the cutting blade passes the anvil to make the cut, a bit like similar to ordinary scissors, blades passing each other. The top mounted safety catch is great for when working up ladders etc as it can be operated with the cutting hand. The typical pruner is between six and eight inches in total length. For most people, any size within that range will be comfortable to use and hold. However, if your hands are particularly large, you’ll be more comfortable with a pruner at the upper end of that range or even beyond it, while those with especially small hands will prefer a pruner that’s towards the lower end of the range. The Felco 6 is designed for comfortable use by gardeners with small-to-medium-sized hands.
