The NEMO Forte 35 is a spoon-shaped synthetic sleeping bag designed for side sleepers. As a rotisserie sleeper myself, I had a hard time using this bag. As I moved from side to side, I got tangled up. When I’m in a traditional body-hugging mummy bag, I tend to stay more in one place, and when I do move, the bag moves with me. There is enough girth in the Forte that the bag didn’t turn when I did, so I found the zipper ending up in a bunch of different places, having to readjust the Blanket Fold, and fighting the oversized hood.

My initial general impression is the Nemo Disco 15 is a great all-around three-season sleeping bag that offers a great warmth-weight ratio without sacrificing interior space (anything but). However, it goes a step further with a wave and blanket design. The top of the bag has horizontal baffles allowing the down to create a wave, giving it more loft while underneath is a blanket design. It also features a second zipper at the top that goes down to about your chest. This allows you to unzip the top of the bag completely and fold it down. The main updates are the move to top-quality Zerofiber insulation. Less insulation is used in this updated version, but it retains the same -7°C Comfort Limit. The inner and outer fabrics have also changed to reduce the overall weight without sacrificing warmth or durability. While this was practical for those wanting the functionality of a blanket with a sleeping bag feel, it added weight and allowed some warmth to escape at the feet.
