About this deal

The Tuk Tuk is an odd little vehicle, there have been a couple of LEGO versions appear in a couple of sets, namely from Monkie Kid and The LEGO NINJAGO Movie themes. LEGO, the LEGO logo, the Minifigure, DUPLO, the FRIENDS logo, the MINIFIGURES logo, DREAMZzz, NINJAGO, VIDIYO and MINDSTORMS are trademarks of the LEGO Group.

The only hire vehicle is in LEGO Indiana Jones 2 game in Bangkok, but this simple brown and green vehicle from 2009 never appeared in any sets or films. You can change your choices at any time by visiting Cookie preferences, as described in the Cookie notice. Unfortunately Covid restrictions foiled my plan to take photos with an Asian vibe at some special locations. They were originally designed in Thailand as the motorised equivalent of a rickshaw, although they were prototyped in Italy after WWII to try to rebuild city transportation. Kids will enjoy creating fun adventures with this colorful LEGO® Creator Tuk Tuk buildable car, featuring front and back seats, hanging decorations and Indian-style lunchboxes in a pallet on the roof.

I love that you can put minifigures in, though they will tend to slide off the passenger seat if it's moved around a bit, and the driver fits quite snugly. No minifigures are included in the set, but the scale is appropriate and it is built to accommodate them. LEGO® fans aged 7 and up who love building and playing with car toys can use the Tuk Tuk to stage stories on their own or add it to other LEGO playsets in their collections for more fun. Bit what tipped it over the edge were the two studs on the driver’s seat – perfect for a minifigure to sit on.Sure, if you want to go the passive aggressive way :) I didn't say that there were only tuk tuks, and I also mentioned that they are less common than cycle rickshaws (what you refer to "pedal-powered"). This is a beautiful representation of a TukTuk, with some lovely decorative detail that sets it apart from anything I'd have scratch built, and to the amused delight of a younger family member, is exactly the right scale for Lego Friends minifigs to use.

Really fun to make and has song lovely details, like the pink seats and the tassels dangling from the roof. With India poised to be the next big toy market, this could signal the LEGO Group’s first push into a new region, similar to what’s happening in China. It is based on the Tuk Tuk, an iconic mode of transportation for around the streets of India, where they are the most common method of getting around. The lunch boxes also give it a bit too much height relative to other Lego City vehicles, but this is not a deal-breaker at all. Kids will enjoy creating fun adventures with this colorful LEGO Creator Tuk Tuk buildable car, featuring front and back seats, hanging decorations and Indian-style lunchboxes in a pallet on the roof. Unlike 40468 Yellow Taxi, this vehicle does look like it accommodates passengers, and is also strikingly colourful with some relatively new pieces. The build is very solid (except maybe for the side mirrors) and a very good play model for younger builders. But this version is something different, for one it’s not Minifigure scale, it’s also a little more detailed than those featured as part of other sets. I think the reason it looks too big for "minifig scale" has a lot to do with the way minifigs themselves are articulated. I got very lucky with some gaps in the clouds and a little sunshine, I tried to use some backlight to let it shine through the open spaces of the vehicle and make the photos interesting.
