However, with Lowe now looking to become a packs-only outfit it looks like it might go, though the wired peak is different from most alternatives and from my point of view better: it'll stay how you put it and still folds away easily to stow in a pocket. The large give a perfect snug fit for me, the XL I would say fits but is loose so it would come down to preference then.

One of the things I'm thinking about is use for winter mountaineering etc, but I've heard they are no good under a helmet, but I can't see why? After a dalliance with Gore-Tex the shell material is again Lowe Alpine’s Triplepoint Ceramic, which is waterproof (the seams are taped) and breathable.
