There are recipes that are a spin on popular dishes which will have the keen meat eater licking their lips. Caribbean food makes for brilliant vegan dishes because it relies on fresh and vibrant fruit and veg, from plantain to pineapple. I received an ARC of this book from the publisher, and I have to say that for someone in the Caribbean, this would probably be a good recipe book. We want to give you platefuls that taste like grandma's food so there are recipes for classics like Ackee 'n' Saltfish and Curry goat , and Caribbean favourites from home such as Garlic butter lobster and Trini doubles .

Think Potato and chickpea curry with roti, Jerk cauliflower wings, Coconut, black-eyed pea and sweet potato stew, and Plantain cookies . Classic recipes like Ackee ‘n’ Saltfish, Oxtail, Curry goat, Jerk Chicken and Caribbean favourites like Garlic butter lobster and Trini doubles. Special thanks to netgalley and the publishers for a arc of this book in exchange for an honest review.I loved all the different curries, was delighted to find a Vegan Jamaican ginger cake recipe and the rum roasted potatoes were a wonder at Christmas. Beyond the fact I love the base recipe for dumplings and pea stew but also in 3 days I cooked 3 dinners in a row. In a large frying pan, heat some olive oil and the onion and garlic and cook down for 5-7 minutes over a medium-high heat until soft. This delightful book provides many flavorful vegan recipes to highlight the local ingredients and foods. In a bowl, season the beef with the salt, pepper, thyme, paprika, all-purpose seasoning and soy sauce/browning.

Natural Flava brings together Ital inspiration, punchy Caribbean flava and quick and easy recipes in this feel-good cookbook. Just to note (because I often make the mistake of not reading recipes fully until I come to make something! Craig and Shaun charmed cooks everywhere with their essential introduction to home-cooked Caribbean food in Original Flava. Being lovers of spice and big flavours, we have enjoyed quite a few homemade dishes from from the Original Flava Caribbean Recipes From Home by Craig and Shaun McAnuff – full of authentic, delicious Caribbean recipes.We also like to twist it up a likkle to give dishes our modern spin, so you can find recipes for Honey roasted jerk-spiced salmon, Plantain beanburgers and Banana fritter cheesecake. The first recipe we tried was Pepper Steak, a rich, mouth-watering meal with a fiery kick that I just had to share with you!

Other recipes we have tried and liked from this recipe book are; Jerk-spiced Lentil Bolognese (pictured below) Chicken Fried Rice, Da Jerk Burger, and Curry Prawns.
