About this deal

And the Darth Vader does what any Ancient One-With-The-Force would do. He pushed the spirit out of her. Rather literally.

Marvel Comics December solicitations and covers revealed on Newsarama (archived from the original on September 15, 2022) In the real world, a fermata is a musical direction to hold a note longer than its usual length, and a Faraday cage is an enclosure to shield objects from electromagnetic fields. After a chilling duel, Vader uses the Force in a way that separated the Spark Eternal from Aphra’s body. The two’s conversation takes on a much different tune as she enters survival mode. She ultimately goads Vader into going off after his Master, but it was a massive amount of fun to see her brief cameo in this final arc. In terms of a setup issue, I can’t imagine Hidden Empire #1 being much better. Some character choices left me a bit baffled, and the art of Kho Phon Farrus had them looking like a totally different character from their appearance in Doctor Aphra. It’s not my story though, and it’s hardly the first time an artist has a different take on a character. Either way, if all the potential this issue tees up comes to fruition, Hidden Empire going to be a special time.

Star Wars: Hidden Empire Reading Order

The Solo: A Star Wars Story fan favorite -- one of Han Solo’s first loves who rose to control the Crimson Dawn crime syndicate -- reemerged in Marvel’s War of the Bounty Hunters crossover, orchestrating the theft of a still frozen-in-carbonite Han from Boba Fett . Follow-up event Crimson Reign found Qi’ra making a move against the Empire, gaining the ire of Palpatine himself. Now, the story will come to an end, with Qi’ra and the Emperor on a collision course. In StarWars.com’s exclusive first look at Star Wars: Hidden Empire #1, the final installment in Marvel and writer Charles Soule’s unofficial Qi’ra trilogy, the Crimson Dawn leader finally engages the Emperor. And she has a surprise for him…

The fallout follows as Vader is tasked with finding the cage before it can be solved. The Knights of Ren meanwhile are understandably not too keen to continue being science lab guinea pigs. They leave of their own volition. All of the various threads and characters from these comics–Qi’ra, the Archivist, the hooded figures listening to the story, Palaptine and Vader, the Fermata Cage, the Knights of Ren, Cadeliah, etc.–all come together in cohesive and rewarding fashion.Hidden Empire #5 is a mostly satisfying ending to Qi’ra’s story. She successfully outsmarts Palpatine and Vader and could’ve defeated them once and for all if it wasn’t for the Knights of Ren’s foolish actions. This is the best way of respecting Qi’ra’s formidable character and all her scheming without undermining or contradicting other canon stories.

There is really only one Jedi who would know Qi’ra (that we know of) and he has a sister that he trains as a Jedi after the fall of the Empire. With the timeline being filled in between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens by Disney+ shows like The Mandalorian, there's a chance that Qi'ra could end up playing a part, especially now we know she survived the events of the original trilogy. We don’t know who they will be or if they will even show up. That being said it would be pretty disappointing and anticlimactic if this entire story was told just to show it fail. I believe that the Fermata Cage will work and that Palpatine and Vader will end up destroying the Sith that is unleashed when they challenge the master and apprentice. Cementing Sidious as the most powerful Sith lord of all time. She nodded. "Yes my Lord. I wish to request access to the Rakatan archives, so that I may confirm if that region was once part of their empire." But what lies beyond for the Rebellion? For the Empire? What role do the bounty hunters play? And what is happening to Doctor Aphra? Darth Vader and Emperor Palpatine confront and massacre Qi’ra’s Crimson Dawn forces on the station while the Archivist prepares to trap the Sith Lords in the Fermata Cage, an ancient dark side weapon that can freeze people and places in time.
