About this deal

The Rottentrolls were all named after places in Yorkshire: Aysgarth was the oldest and wisest of the Rottentrolls and an accomplished artist, proficient at drawing landscapes and scenic portraits. God Guise: All one needs to do to become a God-king of the trolls is to stand in the middle of an abandoned quarry and yell "Roger was here", as the trolls had an ancient document (graffiti on the wall of the quarry) that said those exact words.

The youngest head in Cheshire’s history, “Mister Firth”, as generations of schoolchildren will tell you, was no ordinary teacher. In an age before risk assessments he sweet-talked mayors in his beloved Yorkshire into letting him tip up with a coachload of schoolchildren to sleep in the town hall on PE crash mats. He would then turf everyone out of bed at six in the morning to paint the dawn rising on the River Wharfe. The voices of the Rottentrolls were provided, in the first series, by John Thomson, Phil Cornwell and Rebecca Front. In later series Ronni Ancona replaced Rebecca Front. The pilot for the television series was filmed in and around old lead mines in the Yorkshire Dales, by multi award winning documentary director/cameraman Paul Beriff, as a gesture of support for the project. Live-action, puppets, hand-drawn animation, stop-motion animation, CGI, it's all covered: from Fireman Sam to The Family-Ness, Grange Hill to Going Live!, Postman Pat to Pocoyo, and Thunderbirds to Thomas the Tank Engine, you're sure to relive your childhood with this extensive compilation.Using storylines he had devised himself, the show ran for four years from 1996 to 2000, and won a Bafta, after which Gordon featured in a spin-off children’s show in 2002-03, Ripley and Scuff, appearing as the artist Grandad Gordon, who encouraged children to get involved in art. It was an appropriate role, for Gordon had specialised in art as a teacher, having risen to become head of junior schools in Warrington and then Runcorn. A compilation video of the British Kids TV, judged by audience and British iconicism, musical production, nostalgia, and personal opinion.
