When complete, westbound traffic will be able to make a right turn onto the moor and U-turn to the east We’ll be carrying out essential maintenance work on Railway Triangle East and West Bridges near South Killingholme, which carry the A180 over railway lines. We’ll replace the parapets and safety barrier on the north and west verges resulting in safer journeys for road users. October – 6 November Northbound M18 traffic, stay on the M1 to J33, Catcliffe Roundabout then at the roundabout go southbound on the M1, exiting onto the link road to the M18 Farrans is working on behalf of Northumbrian Water to construct a new 34km pipeline across West Durham and Teesdale, to upgrade and improve our water infrastructure for decades to come. As part of this huge task, we have to create a tunnel under the Tees to carry the pipeline across the river. We’re currently sinking two deep shafts on either side of the river at Cotherstone and we’ll be using a Tunnel Boring Machine to drill the tunnel to link the two shafts. As the A66 heads north, the A67 leaves at Morton Park to head east past Dinsdale and Durham Tees Valley Airport before joining with the A135 in Eaglescliffe. From there it heads south through Yarm and Kirklevington before joining the A19 road at Crathorne. [5] Later in the 1960s, the Darlington to Middlesbrough section of the A67 was usurped by the present A66. Subsequent improvements have taken the A66 away from the original A67 route, notably in Darlington itself, where the original route to the east the town is now partly the B6279 (anomalously numbered as it is entirely to the east of the A1).
At the junction with the A67, an underpass would carry the new eastbound carriageway with two new slip roads accommodating traffic travelling to and from the east. WB diversion (revised) leaves the A180 at Stallingborough junction and goes through Stallingborough, Keelby, Great Limber, Kirmington and Melton Ross to re-join the A180/ M180 at Barnetby (junction 5). A full closure of the A66 westbound from Boathouse to Little Burdon will be required to set up and remove the contraflow at the start of work on Friday night (approximately 8-9pm) and at the end of work on Monday morning (approximately 5-6am). Construct a new dual-carriageway underpass below the existing Kemplay Bank roundabout – enabling free-flowing traffic along the A66 and improving access to Penrith and the A6
