About this deal

Many years later, Soundwave was among Megatron's forces on Earth. He intercepted a conversation between Cliffjumper and Arcee and reported it to temporary commander Starscream. Sometime later he reported that he was receiving a transmission emminating from somewhere deep in space, and Starscream asked for certainty before activating the space bridge, through which Megatron arrived. Darkness Rising, Part 1 Like the other Cyberverse Mercenaries, Soundblaster's model is a recolour of an existing character. In his case, that's Soundwave. Unfortunately for Megatron, his parallel scheme to use the Brainwave Scanner to corrupt Optimus Prime proved too successful. The rechristened " Nemesis Prime" was power-hungry and a threat to Megatron's leadership, taking half the Go-Bots as his own separate Decepticon faction. Soundwave led Nightracer and Rumble on behalf of Megatron to steal some equipment from China, but they were opposed by the Spy Changers and the People's Liberation Army Paranormal Taskforce. Soundwave was captured by the Chinese authorities. Renegade Rhetoric (2) Milton Bradley mini-comic

Soundwave reported to Galvatron that the Brain Drain device, capable of syphoning away the brainpower of humans and convert it to energy, had been completed and was ready to be put to use for the Decepticon cause. He became giddy over the idea of rendering humans "incredibly stupid," until Galvatron sternly instructed him to simply inform him of the bare facts when reporting to him. After Soundwave elaborated further on the number of humans the Decepticons would need to "drain," Soundwave was instructed to guard the device while the Decepticons prepared to use it later in the day at a concert in Heywood Heights. Later, Soundwave notified Megatron that access to the core was impossible, as it was guarded by the Omega Gate. In Uniend 610.23 Zeta, Ask Vector Prime Alpha Trion feared that if he or Optimus Prime knew the whereabouts of the AllSpark, Soundwave would be able to find it. Bumblebee at Tyger Pax Fall of Cybertron toy bios Soundwave was seen grappling with Springer during a vicious battle on Cybertron. While some fought, others left Cybertron behind to expand the Transformers' war to the planet Nebulos. Headmaster comic book commercial When the captive Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Sideswipe were brought before Soundwave in the Kaon Prison, Laserbeak swooped down and perched on his master's arm. It soon turned out, however, that Prime's team had allowed themselves to be captured so they could rescue Zeta Prime, and as they escaped and made their way through the prison, Laserbeak could be spotted lurking in the shadows, watching their progress, at three different locations. By the time Prime's group made it to Soundwave's laboratory, where Zeta Prime was being held Laserbeak had reunited with his master, and joined Soundwave in battling the Autobots. Laserbeak served as Soundwave's last line of defense in the clash, ejecting from his chest and screeching across the lab at high speeds, blasting laser bursts onto the Autobots below. He was eventually downed, however, and accompanied Soundwave in a hasty retreat, but not before Soundwave fatally wounded Zeta Prime. In the Japanese Prime toyline, Soundwave has named powered-up modes when given various Arms Microns in certain configurations: Logic dictates that there is a small chance that I will kill you, here and now... but I'm gonna shoot anyway. Turn the tables on the good guys when you throw this warrior into the fight! Your CYBERTRONIAN SOUNDWAVE figure is dedicated to destroying any opponent. If robot combat turns into a chase, take his "cannons" of his storage compartment and convert your villain into armored vehicle tank vehicle mode. His cannon accessories mount on his vehicle hood to make him a virtually unstoppable fighter! The cassette-icons are nice but are a snug fit into his chest compartment. It may take a few movements in and out to get the door to work right. I like the added color and pattern they add. Closer than ever to reaching the AllSpark, the Decepticons awakened after crash-landing on pre- Ice Age Earth. While battling the Autobots, both sides were joined by the Maximals and Predacons, their epic battle changing their combined destinies. Soundwave was in attendance at the Decepticons' latest meeting in their war room. As Megatron discussed his latest plan to finance the construction of a Decepticon army, Soundwave noticed Bumblebee spying on them through a window. Megatron assured Soundwave that this would be used to their advantage, and they would soon both secure the sunken treasures in the waters of Alaska and capture the Autobots. Released around the same time, The Transformers: The Movie toys released in the Studio Series toyline had also been described by Hasbro as being alternate universe counterparts to the War for Cybertron Trilogy characters, due to characters like Cyclonus and Galvatron being released in one line, while Scourge and the Sweeps were in the other. This made for more of an additional personal canon-type element to the story and playability between the lines. This mold was also used to make the Universe incarnation of Soundwave, and repurposed as a clone of Soundwave. Soon thereafter, Megatron traveled to Earth, with Soundwave granting him access to the Decepticons' base while Starscream was out training with the Combaticons. Upon Starscream's return, Soundwave wielded Megatron in his gun mode, and blasted Starscream through the chest before the true leader of the Decepticons revealed himself to his usurper. The Hasbro release of Masterpiece Soundwave features a slightly different deco than the Takara version, such as a yellow visor instead of a red one, and leaving the Rumble/Frenzy gun storage panels on his feet unpainted. All of the accessories included with the Takara release are ported over to the Hasbro set (with the exception of the cut-out images for use with his display panel), plus all five of the Masterpiece microcassettes. The cassettes also feature different decoes than their Takara counterparts (see their own articles for details), and their cases are cast in clear plastic instead of the translucent hot pink the Japanese versions came with. His highly truncated instructions omit any explanation of virtually all of his accessories, action features, and interactions with his minions. Finally, he has a designated number as part of the Thrilling 30 line. Accessories: Missile launcher, missile, shoulder-cannon, blaster/blade, left & right gun pods, "Sideswipe" left forearm Toward the end of Cybertron's golden age, Soundwave became one of Megatronus's most reliable soldiers as they prepared to change Cybertron. Millions of years ago, Soundblaster faced off against his rival Soundwave to see who would become the undisputed beat-boxing champion of the Decepticons. In front of a cheering crowd at Maccadam's, the two squared off in a sonic duel—and only Soundwave was left standing. Megatron proclaimed him the winner, and a humiliated Soundblaster stalked away, abandoning his Decepticon insignia and Cybertron altogether. Soundwave and Starscream were sent to investigate strange reports of space-time warps and UFOs on the planet Zel Samine, bringing a space bridge with them on their shuttle that they would use to transport Megatron to the plant once they had landed. Inexplicably, their ship wound up crashing, and when they attempted to use the space bridge, it malfunctioned, dumping Megatron some distance away. After reuniting with his leader, Soundwave deduced that powerful electromagnetic rays from Zel Samine's sun, Paradius, were responsible for scrambling the systems of the shuttle and the space bridge, and that the Decepticons themselves would be subject to similar catastrophic system disruption if they tried venturing off the planet without a ship. The Decepticons immediately set about raiding local energy sources for energon to repair their craft, starting with a wind power plant on Mount Jaad. Then, after successfully draining the Ranpas Geothermal Power Plant—in part thanks to Soundwave deploying Laserbeak to locate any Autobot guards around the facility—Megatron chose the Monogan Hydroelectric Power Station for their next target. Soundwave pointed out the heavy Autobot fortifications that had been set up around the station and suggested a different target, but Megatron dismissed his concerns, and when the Decepticons did indeed emerge victorious, Soundwave apologized for speaking out of turn and doubting his leader. WFC-S18 Soundwave Spy Patrol figures fit (individually) inside chest of this figure (sold separately, subject to availability). Sideswipe made his name at the Autobot victory of Kalis, bringing down Bruticus Maximus with Optimus Prime and Jazz. Sideswipe boasted that he tore off Bruticus' head, a claim Alpha Trion considered hyperbole. Optimus did not consider Sideswipe one of his closest comrades but he was often present at their meetings. He concurred with Jazz that fighting Darkened Decepticons was better than fleeing, and he did so when Megatron invaded Teletraan-1 and took the Plasma Energy Chamber. Afterwards he aided in extracting Optimus when he rescued Sentinel Prime from Kaon, and guarded over Jazz and Prowl as they recovered from that adventure. When Optimus returned from Cybertron's core with the Matrix of Leadership, he began Project Generation One, a plan to leave Cybertron as it purged itself of Megatron's poison. Though he understood why Optimus was doing it, it still felt to Sideswipe like they were quitting the war. He continued to accompany Optimus in sabotaging Trypticon and was appointed the Ark's pilot, ensuring it journeyed through the last space bridge, to a spiral galaxy—where the AllSpark was detected nearby. ExodusSOUNDWAVE is one of the most sophisticated electronics and communications experts on CYBERTRON. His body is heavily armored and shielded to protect the sensitive communications gear hidden within, where he stores every byte of information he collects. He is a living storehouse of secrets. No one trusts him, but everyone understands that the data he holds could destroy them all. According to Megatron, Soundwave is a "blundering, tape-filled idiot." While the veracity of this statement is subjective, Soundwave does whine a lot. When Continents Collide The figure has a "dramatic reveal" feature, where pressing the chest into place causes the head to pop up. The clasp used to hold the spring-loaded piece in place is fairly strong, and requires a small amount of force to latch if the head isn't pressed down before moving the chest assembly. Depending on the individual quality of the figure, this can cause the latch to wear out, and the spring is strong enough that the head will push the whole assembly out of place in vehicle mode if not properly retracted. As such, care should be taken on this step of conversion. Eject is a retool and redeco of Rumble/Frenzy and still transforms into a robotic humanoid. Ramhorn is a robotic rhinoceros who also transforms into a data disc. Soundwave continued to try to decode more data from the Iacon archives, in a continuation of Orion Pax's work. When Airachnid requested Megatron's approval to take point in the hunt for the relics, Megatron requested that Soundwave remind him of her previous words when she planned to abandon him. Later, after Dreadwing and Breakdown's failure to execute her, Soundwave began tracing Airachnid's location during her communication to the Nemesis for Megatron. Crossfire

Unlike the rest of the Core Class brethren, Soundwave does not come with a flight stand-compatible 3mm hole on his rear hip. After Megatron thought that Optimus had been vanquished once and for all, he declared himself Cybertron's "Emperor of Destruction". Soundwave was present for this proclamation. A New Battle! The Big Book of Coloring Fun Soundwave wasn't properly introduced in this commercial, only referred to as the "Decepticons' communications officer." This early animation featured a Soundwave model colored in lavender, versus the dark blue used later. In one possible scenario, Galvatron had to recall his troops from the concert at the last minute when Ultra Magnus and his troops began a timely assault on the Decepticons’ headquarters. Soundwave participated in the battle that ensued, which ended in a loss for the Decepticons when Ultra Magnus triggered an avalanche, burying Galvatron and shattering the Brain Drain device.

Customer reviews

Soundwave was present when a captured Optimus Prime was brought before Megatron. He witnessed Megatron's "death" at the hands (literally) of Metroplex. Part of the second wave of Kreon Warriors, "Knight Soundwave" is a fantasy-medieval version of the Decepticon. He has a clip-on wooden "Laserbeak"-y bird, but it's not specifically labeled as "Laserbeak". His shield also bears a coat of arms featuring two bird heads and a feline head. What could that mean? Hmmmmm.... Soundwave was present in the strike team Primus brought to bear against the Powered Masters in an expedition to the year 2050 of the next universe to capture its newly formed, empty Silver Matrix for his patsy Star Convoy. Abominus comic 2 After the Quintessons were eventually overthrown, Soundwave and the council ushered in the Golden Age of Cybertron, reverse-engineering Quintesson technology and making their own innovations. A Space bridge network was used in conjunction with cyberforming equipment to create Cybertronian colonies, carrying Cybertronians to the stars. A mechanism was even discovered for carrying the Well's life-giving power to other worlds, allowing energon and Cybertronian life to flourish there as well. Soundwave was present at the lighting of the ceremonial torch that carried the spark of the Well to the first colony world of Archon.
