If you are looking for something that is more closely inspired by Beauty the Beast this isn’t it- we have a hero named Beast who kidnaps our heroine, but we soon learn they are both captives of a more powerful man. In this re-telling, The Beast has a boss, and the Beast does all the bidding the boss tells him to do.When it’s an author I already enjoy, well, I’m all in to see how they will take the tale and make it their own, and boy has this author made it her own and I gotta say that I really enjoyed it. It’s supposed to be based on beauty and the beast I guess but other than the names there’s no other sign of that story here. She also knowingly manipulated him and his feelings for her (for protection, I understand), but did that instead of simply acknowledging that she was attracted to him.

He becomes infatuated with the innocent beauty so much so, he starts to disobey his owner, putting his life and Aurora’s in jeopardy. When these two are temporarily set free to find her missing father for Beasts owner, Beast must choose between two paths. She looks up at me in awe as my towel drops to the floor, her eyes sliding down my body to take it all in.Now, as this is a duet and only the first book in the duet with a bit of a cliffy, this review is going to be short and sweet and vague. The heroine is just plain stupid and comes out with the silliest of things, completely unbelievable storyline. I have read other books by this author in the past which I seemed to enjoy at the time however looking back, it seems that most of her stories are repeats of each other and follow a very similar storyline. Towards the end, we have quite a few important character revelations that I’m hoping yield some more vulnerable and emotional moments between these two- and I’m excited to see just how they find their way out of the VERY imminent, perhaps fatal, dangers looming. She glances at me through the corner of her eye, her body shaking underneath mine as I tower over her.
