About this deal

I remember not liking myself for not picking up boys I probably could pick up because of the possibility of being rejected. this book is essentially the uncut version of 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢 𝘤𝘰𝘬𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘺𝘰𝘶 for a lover who wanted to hear it all.

I try to impress her, and recently that’s meant intensely feeling her intense feelings for Taylor Swift. The first three lines of the verse are written in simple past, but the fourth shifts to present perfect, foreshadowing the showdown to come between tenses.I remember reading the word "gnomic" for the first time years ago, and being disappointed it had nothing to do with gnomes. that I know that the scarf Swift leaves at “your sister’s house” is the navy-and-maroon-striped Gucci scarf she was photographed wearing during her 2010 relationship with Gyllenhaal. In the ten-minute version of “All Too Well,” forty-nine lines are in past and forty-seven are in present.

I loved this book when I first read it over thirty years ago (the edition with the yellowy-orange French-looking cover, published by Full Court Press). As if to highlight the kitsch, the camp, and the love of artifice that so delighted him personally, Brainard chose not to disguise the constituent parts in his assemblage and collage, instead naming works such as "Prell" after the products he had co-opted. Sometimes you can see how one memory relates to the next, and sometimes it requires quite a leap in logic to get there. If someone’s chasing you down the street with a knife, you just run, you don’t turn around and shout, "Give it up! Brainard followed I Remember with I Remember More (1972) and More I Remember More (1973), both published by Angel Hair. I would make a case for I Remember as one of the twenty or so most important American autobiographies, important for its air of unimportance and for its mingling of cultural bric-a-brac with sexual frankness and self-revelation. Those writing in past tense used more abstract language, while those writing in simple present “used more concrete linguistic terms.

In simple, forthright, declarative sentences, he charts the map of the human soul and permanently alters the way we look at the world. This book, though not widely known, has been used repeatedly in schools and even in psychological lessons for students and clients alike to reach back into their memories and remember not only the simple things, but the complex as well. This is an enjoyable read, and – whether you’re looking for inspiration or not – will have you writing your own list of I remembers in no time.

Joe Brainard remembered a lot of things and will be remembered as a lot of things: foremost as a master of collage and assemblage, and so, by necessity as well as temperament, an obsessive collector of materials and appropriator of images; also as a painter; a poet; and a friend. I remember when my father would say "Keep your hands out from under the covers" as he said goodnight. At once intensely personal and strikingly universal, Brainard's I Remember has remained a cult classic ever since (though this magnificent yolk-yellow edition is the first UK publication). Brainard started writing his memoir I Remember in 1969, when he was twenty-seven, while staying in Vermont, along with the poet James Schuyler.

Uno di quegli artisti da chiamare nel cuore della notte per parlargli, confrontarsi o anche bere qualcosa insieme. Lucky enough to have Tulsa pals Ron Padgett and Ted Berrigan, the godfather of second-generation New York School poets, as his New York City welcoming committee, Brainard thrived, living the life of a bohemian artist on the Lower East Side and earning his first solo exhibit four short years after arriving in the city. I remember daydreams of having a pet monkey that would wear human clothes and we would go around together.come aver scoperto l’acqua calda: si scrivono frasi di lunghezza diversa, ma generalmente concise (anche una dozzina in una sola di queste paginette), che comincino tutte con ‘Mi ricordo’, e si fanno seguire ricordi a ricordi, a volte scegliendo un argomento (il natale, le vacanze estive, la scoperta del sesso, il cibo…) e lasciando che i ‘Mi ricordo’ si concentrino su questo argomento - altre volte, invece, procedendo a salti, a briglia sciolta, in libertà, senza ordine, avanti e indietro nel tempo, per associazione o contrasto.
