About this deal

I continued the same procedures for every Fun Friday in April, letting those who earned a Desk Pet for the first time in that month fill out the Wish List and the Desk Pets Information Sheet. Once the pets have been adopted, students earn points to spend on pet accessories and earning extra pet playtime and teachers incorporate the pets into their lessons, including discussing, creating, writing about, and drawing animal habitats and environments; keeping daily pet diaries; drawing, painting, and sculpting the pets; and more. That means if you make a purchase through one of these links, at no extra cost to you, this site will earn a small commission. They can still have a desk pet (or more like a shelf pet😂), and they can still participate in building a habitat for that pet.

This is a great way to get students excited about desk pets and also learn more about their classmates. Students would send me messages about how much they wanted a certain Desk Pet, and I knew they were working hard to earn the one they wanted. For example, if you have a student who is struggling to stay on task, you can give them a desk pet to help them focus. Desk Pet Would You Rather: Students can bring their desk pets with them as they partner up for a round of would you rather using would you rather task cards or slides.

This means that the students will be working throughout the week to earn their money which they can use to purchase the pets or the habitat materials, but they don’t have to. I love robots, having tested plenty from the likes of the Anki Cozmo, to multiple Sphero droids, and the latest Enabot EBO X smart home camera robot too. Instead of using a treasure box reward system, I decided to use the "Desk Pets" as our reward system. Students often get so excited to construct things for their desk pet habitat, that they just can’t seem to help but touch.

I've been getting so many targeted adverts lately for AI desk pets, and I think it's time to find out what all of the hype is about. It isn’t just for lower elementary, but there are a few different ways I suggest you cater this incentive to older students. I have seen teachers across that world use Desk Pets and everyone does it a little differently based on the needs for their classroom.Desk Pet Daycare Center–Designate a spot on your desk that is a dayare so the pets can be babysat while they take their timeout from the classroom. The first player rolls the dice, then moves their Desk Pet the corresponding number of squares on the game board. You might not have the space for a large habitat to stay out on student desks, so have students draw their desk pet’s habitat on a piece of paper. By using desk pets to promote positive behavior, you’ll be on the right path to a well-managed classroom. The Target link above shows other erasers that are fun, but a little too big to use with Desk Pets, but the picture shows the foods and treats if you want to see what they look like.
