About this deal

External crash test centres, such as the German automobile organisation ADAC (Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobil-Club), test our Maxi-Cosi car seat on dynamic safety and ease of use. Check at the back of the car seat that the belts are not twisted and that the pull belt (that runs forward at the bottom of the shell) is in the middle of the system.

Its extra high position gives them a great view out of the car and when it's time for a nap the comfortable recline position can be accessed from the front of the seat. However, last week I had a very frightening experience when she fell asleep in the seat, I looked in my rear-view mirror to see her dropped forward, head on chin, and one shoulder completely out of the strap – she hadn’t wriggled out, simply fallen asleep! An added bonus is the fact it has removable, washable covers, which makes it easy to clean – pretty useful with a messy toddler on board! The better your problem and question is described, the easier it is for other Maxi-Cosi owners to provide you with a good answer.

The Maxi-Cosi Tobi Group 1 Car Seat is a forward-facing car seat that is suitable for your child from 9 to 18 kg (approximately 9 months until 4 years of age). With five recline positions that are simple to switch between with just one hand, it means your tot can be comfortable sitting up looking through the window or having a sleep. By this point you will have run out of tension in the seatbelt and you simply clip the end of the belt (with the grey clips at the base) to secure that part. Playing 'I spy' is a lot more fun when your child can actually see out the car window thanks to the Maxi-Cosi Tobi. The way the seat belt goes round the seat and the clips pull up make the car seat very secure, it doesn’t move at All!

And they are still small enough that the rigid straps come right over their body and are held in place securely.I pulled on the straps to check that they were tight enough and they just gave way - providing no protection in a crash.

The spring loaded harness keeps the straps and buckles out of the way, enabling you to place your child quickly and easily in the seat. Please be aware that countries outside of Europe can be subject to import/customs tax and duty payable by the recipient. You then start by looping the seatbelt throught the top slots (if you’re worried about losing the tension on the seatbelt, you can clip them at this point to secure the length of belt) and then bring it around to fix into the seatbelt base. There is nothing worse than when I’m driving about alone with Georgie and there isn’t anybody to pop her head back! The car seat is secured into the car with the car’s seatbelt using the intuitive belt routing points and the seatbelt tensioner and a colour indicator, located on the harness, confirms a secure fit for added peace of mind.

Hello, when washing the Maxi-Cosi Tobi car seat, I accidentally pulled out the tightening belt and can't put it back. When it's time for a sleep, the comfortable recline position can be accessed from the front of the seat.Apparently Maxi Cosi advertised this problem in the press, but I never saw it, so thought I better pass it on. Got his when my little boy was small as he did not like his other car seat and this was perfect, he was able to look out of the car window. It has a few subtle recline postitions meaning that the head is fully supported when they fall asleep and the head support provides good cushioning. We were very happy with it until we were getting ready to go out on a long journey and the straps on the seat failed.
